DEQ gives Clean Water nod for turning more water into beer

Pure Water Wagon 2   Clean Water Service (CWS) recently requested to expand its high purity recycled water program, and the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) approved it.
This will allow CWS to provide its recycled water to commercial brewers and distilleries, which produce alcoholic beverages for sale to the general population.
Originally, in 2015, the DEQ approved the process for competitions at trade shows.
“CWS’ mobile treatment system—the Pure Water Wagon—utilizes a four step process of ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet disinfection, and advance oxidation to produce high purity water that is cleaner than drinking water,” said CWS' Government and Public Affairs Director Mark Jockers.
The official launch of this program will be part of the 33rd Annual Oregon Brewers Festival at Portland’s Waterfront Park in July.
